Indian Food Cravings

Blame it on the roti bread or the curry, but found ourselves craving for Indian food on Sunday. There are only two Indian restaurants that Rex and I frequent to. The other one's Assad Cafe (near Unilever office). Usually, we judge a restaurant's "worthy of a second/several visit" only if their food is good and worth the price. We find it ridiculous that most Indian restaurants in the Metro are quite expensive with each dish averaging around P350-400. 

So it was our second visit to this place. We are always amused by how "hole in the wall" this restaurant is. Tucked in the middle of nowhere so to speak, its hidden in an area of warehouse and clearance shops. note: its beside Jag and Levis outlet stores. The only food place near it is Jollibee.

(cue: Indian music in the background. Surprisingly, good actually. Not the usual Bollywood songs I hear)

Chicken Tikka (Masala)- 275

We actually saw Kuya grilling this before putting on the sauce. You can request the server to have it extra spicy. Really good with rice. 

 Samma Pakora -120
This one's a decent appetizer. Fried onions and chilis. The sauce is refillable. Its a bit hot/sour.

Toasted Papad- 50

I suggest you order the extra rice instead of this item. They have better bread options than this one. Reminds me of a not so delicious cabcab version.

I've only tried Samosas and Pakora. Will sample most of the items soon. :)

Their local beers are Php40. Tried their hot milk tea and lassi (yogurt shake) na rin.  Imagine having Samosas for pulutan diba? 

Chicken Masala's good! If you want to be a bit "adventurous" you can try goat meat. We had their curry before. Honestly, I find the meat a bit greasy but it goes well if you are into spicy food. Greasy and HOT! Prepare for a cheat day, you'll be needing that extra rice.
