Laneway Festival Singapore

This would be filed under my first concert, first music festival, first international act to catch. My band experiences are limited to bar and outdoor gigs. It even means more because I had to fly to Singapore to see these bands... and its a band that I've grown to love.
Singapore might be one of the most convenient places to have a "music festival" in. Places are easier to traverse- efficient train system, everything is so organized and even at its worse state, the "post-concert" venue doesn't look as trashed and wasted. Nevermind that alcohol costs 5x more your usual Makati bar prices.

Bands are a bit crappier in the afternoon. We decided to toast ourselves in the sun waiting for nighttime's bigger bands.

So it was a bit convenient that we decided to stay around the stage area while everyone grabbed dinner. Savages was electrifying. She reminded me of Karen O. Categorized as post punk, she carried tune after tune with so much energy and passion- its just contagious. Plus, she looks flawless and gorgeous on stage.
SAVAGES

HAIM
1. Because they are amazingly good.
2. I've never seen a "rock"/all girl group that is so attentive and adoring to their fans.
3. They would have to pass of as the "anthem of 2013".

Fierce, fun and youthful. Their songs are catchy too. My favorites are The Wire and Days are Gone.

They give justice to covers. They did a wonderful rendition of Fleetwood Mac's Oh Well.

They just scream Girl Power! to me, All things Spice and everything nice.

And to cap things off, James Blake was such a looker. We were able to catch Chrvches and Daughters as well but we all agreed that they're too cute for our liking. Chrvches' vocalist reminded me of an anime character.
